Half-day DMZ tour

Pros: Cheap (USD 45–55), back in Seoul by lunch, covers all the must-sees (Imjingak, Third Tunnel, Dora, Dorasan).

Cons: Rushed. ~25 minutes per stop. No suspension bridge, no JSA, no lunch.

Best for: Travellers with one day in Seoul, families, anyone on a budget.

Full-day DMZ tour

Pros: Adds the Gamaksan red suspension bridge, longer Dora Observatory time, lunch at a Korean restaurant in Paju.

Cons: 9–10 hours, more expensive (USD 75–95), still doesn’t include the JSA.

Best for: Photographers, slow travellers, anyone in Seoul for 4+ days.

Our verdict

If your itinerary allows it, take the half-day and use the afternoon for Bukchon or Insadong in Seoul. If you specifically want the suspension bridge or you hate feeling rushed, upgrade to the full day. Either way, book a tour with free cancellation in case the weather turns bad.
